Dallas is one of the two main hub cities anchoring the Dallas and Fort Worth metropolitan area, an area covering 12 counties and 6,770,991 people, the fourth largest in the United States. The city of Dallas is as diverse as it is large with a population of over 1,241,162 people. The median home price is $250,000 and rising. You can also expect an average apartment rental to come in at $1241. Dallas is the 9th largest city in the United States and the 3rd largest in Texas. Dallas has more restaurants per capita than any city in America and you can find it all. From first rate Texas barbecue and Tex Mex(Dallas invented the frozen margarita), to amazing steaks, sushi, and world class European cuisine. We also host two premiere malls, Northpark Center and the Galleria, with everything from Old Navy to Nordstroms. The entertainment options here are endless with terrific local live theater, comedy, music, touring Broadway shows, concerts, and frequent visits from Cirque De Soleil. Prefer sports? Along with the Dallas Stars(NHL) and the Dallas Mavericks(NBA) at American Airlines Center in Victory Park, you can find the Texas Rangers(MLB), the Dallas Cowboys(NFL), FC Dallas(MLS), and the Texas Motor Speedway just a short drive outside of Dallas. Though the Dallas Independent School District is not one of the highest rated in the area, there are some excellent bright spots to be found, such as the Blue Ribbon Ben Milam Elementary School and the Kathyln Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy magnet school. There are also many private schools options throughout the area.
