Forney

Forney is located only 20 minutes east of Dallas on Hwy 80. Forney has a current population of over 16,000 and is growing fast.  Forney is a historical town, which prospered after the arrival of the railroad in 1873. By 1875, it was known as the hay capital of the world. In 1937, Forney was designated the “Antique Capital of Texas” by the Texas Legislature. Today, more than 150 dealers maintain millions of dollars worth of inventory imported from all over the world. Every week thousands of people come to view and purchase original and reproduction pieces. Forney has a relaxed small town atmosphere, but has a forward thinking city governments, excellent schools and convenient recreation, and shopping areas.
